Welcome Message From Cubmaster Joe

October 2, 2008

I am so glad to see all your faces again and pleased to greet all of the new ones. I know that we are going to have a great year! I have a lot of fun things planned for us. I know that together we can have a very rewarding and exciting time earning all of our badges and belt loops.

I like for Pack 64 to do its share of community service and our first opportunity comes on Saturday, October 4th. We will be helping the Alamance County Hospice at the BMOC. They will be holding a rummage sale and we will be doing trash clean-up duty. We will also be selling candy bars, so if you are having a hard time selling yours, please come and help. This will help you qualify for the “Good Turn for America Patch”. This is a nationally-recognized award and I feel that every boy should earn this as a Cub Scout.

We will also be outdoors a lot. The first opportunity comes at the end of October. On Oct. 24-26 the Alamance District will be holding its annual Cub-O-Ree at Camp Woodfield in Asheboro. This year’s activities will revolve around water bottle rockets that we will build on our Monday Octber 20th meeting. Please bring a 2 liter bottle with cap. The Webelos will be launching model rockets. Bring your own rockets and the council will supply the motors and wadding. There will be belt loops and patches to be earned. Regisrtration is $20 per scout and will include lunch on Saturday.

Please come out and Help the Pack Go by attending these events!
